Everything has been written already, all music has been composed, everything has been realized. There is nothing new to see, to hear, to understand. Originality died with progress, so stand up for it! Or not. Actually, not at all. If you try to stop regretting the past, if you live in the present, if you come out from the mainstream culture, you can open the doors of a new world. It is an hidden and underground world, you have to find it. This universe exists, it is real, tangible. You can touch it with your hand if you want, you can see it.
You can see the subjects of Lola Dupré, you can transpose their emotions, their anxieties, their fears, their loneliness. They are so expressive that they seem alive. But, they only consist of paper. Because paper and scissors are the tools of the trade of Lola Dupré. An eclectic artist who knew how to reinvent an ancient art like the collage. Unlimited tiny bits of paper and countless hours of work lead to the creation of unique and original works inspired by the Dada culture and current digital manipulation.
Inspired and not blatantly plagiarized is clear. Because Lola Dupré is part of that small underground world, that world that whilst learning from the past can give life to the “new”. Because creativity knows no boundaries, otherwise it would be called normality.
